A greatly accomplished violinist in Israel and internationally, Larry Brandt has performed in Israel and abroad in such prestigious symphony orchestras such as the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra under Zubin Mehta, the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra and the Buchmann-Mehta Symphony Orchestra under conductors such as Kurt Masur and Gustavo Dudamel. In South Africa, Larry was the concertmaster of and soloist with the Beau Soleil Symphony Orchestra and made his debut with the Stellenbosch Youth Orchestra in the Endler Hall in Stellenbosch at the age of 18.
Larry completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in music performance under the guidance of Ms Irena Svetlova, at Tel Aviv University, whom he studied under for a total of 7 years. He participated regularly in masterclasses with Zakhar Bron, and also took part in masterclasses with Sergey Ostrovsky, Kati Debretzeni and the Aviv Quartet.
In 2008, Larry joined musical start-up Tonara as musical advisor and musician. He toured Israel and Europe demonstrating a musical performance of the product and its features.
Larry is also renowned in the world of Jewish music and entertainment, making his debut aged 8 for a Chabad fundraising dinner in the prestigious Cape Sun hotel in Cape Town.He has performed with singers Avraham Fried and Mordechai Ben David and Aharon Razel, and has participated in many studio recordings.
Larry produced and recorded his own disc, A Taste of the World to Come, with guitarist Nadav Bachar. He is also frequently requested to play at ceremonies for the Western Wall Heritage Foundation as well as at private simchas and concerts.
